Tutoring Services

Tutoring is available for Math, Science, and Writing in the Learning Commons (L200).

While campuses are closed, Eastfield will be offering online tutoring. See the instructions below for how to access.
Use the links at the left to locate the subject tutoring schedules for Math, Sciences, and Writing.

How to Access Online Tutoring Services

  • Use Google Chrome. (please download if you don't have this browser)
  • Grab some earbuds or a headset.
  • Start at the Dallas College home page, dcccd.edu
  • At the top right of the page, click on Online Tools, then click eCampus.
  • Click Access My Courses Now to login to eCampus.
  • At the top of your eCampus page, click on the red Community tab.
  • In your list of organizations, you should already see Eastfield Tutoring Services.
  • If you don't see it listed, go to the Organization Search window at the top left, type in Eastfield Tutoring Services, and click Go. From there, you'll be able to self-enroll in the community.
  • From the list in My Organizations, click on Eastfield Tutoring Services to enter the community.
  • On the left side of our page, click on ONLINE TUTORING.
  • Then, click on Blackboard Collaborate Ultra.
  • You will see several meeting rooms and tutoring sessions already listed.
  • Tutoring sessions in dark gray are active sessions. Tutoring sessions in light gray are not yet active.
  • Sessions are listed by subject (Math, Science, Writing) and include specific courses.
  • Click on the session you wish to enter.
  • Now click the dark gray button that says Join Session.
  • When entering your first session, you'll see prompts to test and activate your microphone and camera. You will also see a prompt for a tutorial. You can skip the tutorial for now.
  • At the bottom of the screen, click on the microphone icon so the tutor can hear you.
  • If you wish to share video, click on the camera icon at the bottom to activate your camera, and you'll see a preview. Click share to share your video.
  • In the bottom right corner of the screen are two white arrows to click for more functions, including chat, a list of attendees, and options for sharing content.
